The Swift Group, the UK's market leading motorhome manufacturers, have broken the mould of only offering their vehicles in shades of white by announcing that they are now able to offer a choice of colours on their upmarket Swift Kon-Tiki and Bessacarr E 700 Series models.
Investment in new paint spraying facilities at the company's Cottingham site in East Yorkshire has enabled the Group to offer a blue and white scheme with silver graphics on any Swift Kon-Tiki model and a green scheme with gold graphics on any E700 Series Bessacarr.
The idea to move into more personalised colour schemes was hatched when the company displayed a personalised metallic blue Kon-Tiki at the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show at the NEC last year.
Interest in the model was so great that the company has decided to launch the idea to offer motorhome customers a choice from the standard white colour used throughout the industry.
People wanting to order their motorhome in one of the two new colours will have to wait at least 18 weeks for delivery and pay an extra £5,000 on top of the normal price.
"Interest in the two special editions we produced for use at national exhibitions indicated the time had come to test the water and see if the public really wanted motorhomes that broke the traditional mould of white and have a more personal touch."
"We are using the NEC show to launch these two new options to the public and it will be interesting to see how many of our customers will choose the new blue or green colour schemes," Richard White, Swift Group Sales and Marketing Director commented.
The new special paint schemes will be displayed on stand number 3200 at the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show at the NEC in Birmingham from the 14th to 22nd February 2004.
