The Swift Group enjoyed outstanding success at the NEC Show where record sales of its tourers and motorhomes made it the most successful show in the company’s history.
Touring caravan sales topped a staggering £14 million and motorhome sales broke the £7 million barrier - more than double the figures achieved at the Earls Court show this time last year.
Swift’s new open-plan, fixed bed Charisma 620, which was launched at the show, won the Practical Caravan Tourer of the Year and Best Fixed Bed awards. This four-berth model is one of four new identical layouts across the Swift Group brands. They are the first fixed bed twin-axles at their price and specification level. As well as spacious end washrooms they feature generous size lounges with long parallel seats that convert to a double bed.
The third Practical Caravan award won by Swift was for Range of the Year for the Abbey Vogue, which has enjoyed huge success since its launch this spring. The NEC show also saw the launch of the new 7’6” wide, open-plan Vogue 620 model, which like the Charisma 620, has a fixed bed, spacious end washroom and good size lounge.
The new Swift Challenger 560, also launched at the show, won the Caravan Industry Award for the best caravan in the £11K to £15K category. This single axle, island double bed model, is spacious thanks to its 7’6” width, which gives good access to both sides of the island double bed.
Swift Group Marketing Director Richard White said: “The show was an outstanding success for the Swift Group breaking all records making it the most successful show in the company’s history.
“Touring caravan sales topped £14 million and motorhome sales broke the £7 million barrier. These sales are more the double the figures achieved at Earls Court last year and demonstrate the success of the organisers in delivering a high quality audience at the show.
“They also demonstrate the success of the group’s new touring products in the Abbey, Swift and Sterling brands and the outstanding success of the new ranges of motorhomes with the new low profile models leading the way. We clearly increased our market share in all sectors at the show.
“With the launch of the new Swift Kon-Tiki and Bessacarr E700 ranges and further developments in our touring brands still to come at the February NEC Show, 2007 looks like being a record year for the Group.”
